Temple Israel is known for being a participatory congregation, full of enthusiastic singing and harmonizing. These musical resources are provided by Rav Hazzan Ken Richmond to help you lift up your voice at home or in synagogue. Divided into categories, including shabbat and holidays, melodies geared to children and families, and resources for learning to lead services and to chant Torah, we hope that you find them enjoyable and helpful, whether in remembering an old familiar melody or learning a new one, for helping you celebrate the Jewish calendar at home or as part of our synagogue community.
We also have several singing groups that meet at the temple which are always looking for singers. The TI of Natick Singers, or Renana, meaning joyful song, meets weekly under the direction of Alan Nelson, and sings selections in Hebrew, English, and Yiddish, in 4-or-more part harmony, from the Renaissance to new arrangements. Please contact Alan if you are interested in joining us! Here is a video of a past performance.
A number of our teens and pre-teens sing in the Boston chapter of HaZamir, the national Jewish teen choir, which performs each year in Lincoln Center.
