Robin Kahn has over 20 years in the field of Jewish education. She joined Temple Israel of Natick’s team as the Director of Education and Teen Engagement in 2015. Before her arrival at Temple Israel, Robin served as the Director of Education at Congregation Beth Am Israel in Penn Valley, PA. She has also held educational leadership positions at Temple Emunah in Lexington,MA, Congregation Beth Israel in Andover, MA, and Kesher in Newton, MA. Robin earned a BA and MA from Brandeis University in Modern Jewish History and an EdM from Harvard University in Learning and Teaching. Her work is influenced by several Fellowships she has been a part of including the M² The Institute for Information Jewish Education, the Mandel Teacher Educator Institute, and the HUC-JTS Leadership Program. Robin’s core belief about education is that learning thrives only after relationships are established and so relationship-building is at the core of her work. Her commitment and passion for supplemental Jewish education emanates from the belief that this modality allows for, and depends on, extraordinary creativity and energy. She is at her best when co-planning and working on a team.
In addition to her work at Temple Israel, Robin serves on several CJP educational task forces, teaches at Ramah Sports Academy in the summer, and directs the Undergraduate Fellows Program at Brandeis University’s Mandel Center for Studies in Jewish Education where she mentors and teaches undergraduates teaching in supplementary schools in the Boston area.
