Temple Israel, with support from our Sisterhood, is an Institutional Member of Mayyim Hayyim, the world’s premier pluralistic Mikveh (ritual mikveh) and Education Center, located in Newton. Several of our members have been trained as Mikveh guides.
Mayyim Hayyim’s resource bank includes ceremonies that extend beyond a Mikveh’s traditional uses, including Nidah, conversion and preparing for a wedding. New ceremonies and rituals help individuals to mark an array of life cycle events, recovery from illness or trauma, celebrating special birthdays, moving on after a divorce, and many more.
