Temple Israel of Natick welcomes GLBT members, visitors, friends, and family. Since the Conservative Movement’s Committee on Jewish Law & Standards‘ rulings of 2006, Rabbi Liben and Cantor Richmond have been available to perform gay marriages between two Jewish partners. Gay married couples, just as straight married couples, can have a joint aliya to the Torah together, and have family membership at TI. TI’s circle includes gay members and gay and transgender friends and family of members. We have had a Gay-Straight group at TI that has sponsored discussions and film-screenings through Keshet, as well as staff and lay-leader training through their programming. We have been proud to host openly-gay Jewish thinker Jay Michaelson as a scholar-in-residence. We are currently collaborating with Keshet to work on better serving our GLBT members and the wider GLBT Jewish community in Metrowest, and we welcome your input!
