"The Seder Plate Song"

(to "I've Got the Horse Right Here" from Guys and Dolls)
by Rabbi Daniel H. Liben, Passover 1994

We've got the matzah here
We baked it in our haste
The charoset looks like brick but it's a tasty paste.
The shankbone's crispy brown, and so's the egg, that's nice!
They remind us of the Temple where we'd sacrifice.

Can do! Can do! A Seder we sure can do!

The parsley's fresh and green, reminds us of the spring,
We taste the bitterness of slavery in the maror's sting.

Can do! Can do! A Seder we sure can do!

They're all arranged so nice upon the Seder plate,
All the kids will gaze upon them so to cogitate.
Then they will ask us all to tell the reason why,
And we'll explain that God redeemed us `ere we reached Sinai!

Can do! Can do! A Seder we'll do with you!
