Saturday Morning

Our shabbat morning service is warm, participatory, and fairly traditional, with most prayers being sung together in Hebrew, led by Cantor Ken.  We begin at 9:15 with psalms and songs, recite the Shema around 9:45, and begin the Torah service by 10:15.  TI prides itself on its strong corps of Torah readers.  Rabbi Liben gives a d’var Torah around 11:15, and we try to finish by noon for kiddush.  We often celebrate a bar or bat mitzvah, baby-naming, anniversaries or birthdays.  There is a chance to offer a prayer for loved ones who are in need of healing.  Children are always welcome.

We hold youth services twice a month during the school year, generally on the 1st and 3rd SaturdaysTot Shabbat for pre-school age with parents, Mini-Minyan for K-2 children, and Jr. Congregation for grades 3-6.  The services are all led by talented parent-educator volunteers, with some help from our teens.  Upcoming dates are listed here.

Babysitting is generally offered during the school year on non-youth-service weeks, from 10:00-noon downstairs in the nursery school.  Suggested age range: 1-and-a-half through 5.  Upcoming babysitting dates include September 21, October 5 & 26, November 23, December 7, January 11 & 25, February 8, March 7 & 21, April 4, May 2 & 9, June 6.

We hold Synaplex services several times a year which include a variety of services, as well as other options such as nature walks, yoga, discussion, Torah study, and more.  Let us know if you have feedback or would like to help out.  On these mornings, babysitting is offered beginning at 9:15 AM.
